All About Reading’s Orton-Gillingham-based program teaches foundational literacy skills using multisensory strategies. In Level 4 students will learn the final 15 phonograms and practice reading words that include the phonograms. They’ll also practice decoding multisyllable words reading words with new suffixes and with multiple suffixes and reading words with unaccented syllables and silent letters. Using more advanced texts they’ll also continue to practice comprehension skills like comparing/contrasting main characters skimming for information discussing conflict and character t ransformation making predictions and inferences and more. Vocabulary will focus on understanding homonyms heteronyms synonyms antonyms and more. Students will explore figurative language concepts and words influenced by Greek French Spanish and Italian. This Level 4 Complete Materials Kit includes most of the required resources for teacher and student. Each of the 63 lessons are scripted in the open-and-go Teacher’s Manual so with very little prep you can focus on your child and keep the lesson time short fun and engaging.
