DVD501 ASL for Beginners; Learn Animals

Grade Level: 8th

An easy-to-learn, step-by-step approach to learning basic sign language, complete with drills and practice exercises to increase signing ability and understanding. Grammar is introduced in context, with an emphasis on developing question and answer skills. Students will learn conversational strategies to help maintain a conversation along with interaction activities allowing students to rehearse what they’ve learned in each lesson.

Host Clarissa demonstrates the importance of facial expressions while signing. As she talks, onscreen captions and emoji’s appear. Everyday communication is the centerpiece of each lesson. Clarissa uses Voice, while the Deaf guest uses ASL with Subtitles.
