Develop your student’s spelling, writing, reading, and vocabulary skills with Zaner-Bloser’s Spelling Connections. This program teaches common spelling patterns and rules so students can recognize and anticipate syllable types and apply those spelling and syllable patterns to new words at each grade level. New words are used in multiple contexts to expand vocabulary, enhance comprehension, and improve writing. Word Sort activities introduce practice and enhance pattern understanding. There are three options for word lists (Emerging, On Level, and Challenging) so each child’s list can be adjusted based on their performance on the pre-test that is given at the beginning of each unit. Each unit includes approximately 15 minutes of instruction per day, supplemented with independent work completed by your child, along with a post-test at the end of each unit. A 3- or 5-Day schedule is available.

The full-color Student Edition includes 35 units that provide comprehensive daily spelling practice by connecting spelling to thinking, phonics, vocabulary, reading, and writing through engaging exercises and activities. Handwriting Modules for cursive and manuscript instructions, along with guidance for using a Dictionary and Thesaurus, are located at the back of the Student Edition for easy reference.
